Overview

Alma reviewed the district’s teacher recruitment and hiring procedures. Work included a comprehensive examination of the teacher recruitment procedure in determining if the district was attracting qualified and diverse candidates. Alma also studied the screening and hiring processes to determine if the district utilized a streamlined, competency-based process to screen and choose teachers and if hiring timelines were sufficient to employ the top applicants.

Our team analyzed critical human capital data, district processes, and perceptions related to diverse staff and students, reviewed national research on the impact of robust and diverse teaching staff on student outcomes and identified teacher recruiting and hiring models that have been proven effective for hiring solid and diverse teaching staff.
